Groove Jones had the opportunity to work with Fresh Wata to design and develop an interactive 3D animation for their client T-Mobile to highlight the capabilities of their 5G network. The customized interactive experience was designed for product demonstrations at their Executive Briefing Center in Overland Park, Kansas City.
Users will engage and learn from the video and the presenters’ explanation and insight into how T-Mobiles 5G spectrum assets allow flexibility, network solutions and performances, right-sized deployment models, catered business goals, and much more
Though this experience is mostly 3D, there are 2D UI elements integrated into the states. As the sole Motion Designer on the project, I was responsible for implementing many of these assets. Interfaces like animated Hotspots, Menus, effects, and lock-ups.
On the 3D end, I designed the traffic and drone system that helps make our 5G city a bustling one. All Vehicles follow a spline path and are animated with our looping presentation states in mind.
When Implementing the Hotspots in After Effects It was essential that they continuously face the user. Luckily there's a feature built into the program called "Auto-Orient", but perspective is still maintained with this enabled. To get rid of the awkward tilt, I researched and employed a solution that gave us the desired look.
