IBM

Groove Jones was commissioned for Think 2021 to develop three immersive digital experiences, empowering IBM executives and speakers to showcase their groundbreaking technologies dynamically and engagingly throughout the event.

The Experience

Users had the opportunity to explore features and capabilities by tapping the bottom navigation bar. These stories were told through animated motion graphics and by zooming in for an up-close view of the content. If the user happens to be on a mobile device, they are given an additional option of viewing the product in Augmented Reality.

Mock-ups

One of my responsibilities as the Motion Designer on the project was to closely follow the Low-Fidelity wireframes created by our UX Designer, and breathe life into it. After studying and implementing IBM's Design system, the animation was used by our Stakeholders to get a better understanding of the final product in a more digestible context. Developers would also be able to use this as a visual reference when implementing assets.

Interactive assets

I was in charge of animating many of the interactive 3D elements for the Web/Mobile experiences. Being tasked with pioneering ways in which users can interact and understand the stories we created.

Challenges

With an event having a date that was set in stone, we could not afford to see any delays. Addressing stakeholder notes promptly led me to develop a streamlined workflow for quick turn-around interactive experiences.

The experiences created have went on to win a multitude of awards.
